After a Week of Conversation

We have been spending 30 minutes per day talking about students and their preferred activities. So far, we have covered only a handful of verbs. That’s the point. I want to give them a narrow focus and do a deep dive. This is what we’ve seen to this point:

At the end of the week, I want students to see how much they can already understand. This activity is great for that.

In Paso 1 of this activity, leaners process a bunch of “yo” form sentences and mark whether the sentences apply to them. After Paso 1, I survey learners to get an idea what kind of class we have.

In Paso 2, students are asked to introduce themselves to three classmates and to ask a series of questions. Guess what? They already have the answers to the questions from Paso 1. This task is manageable for all students who can complete Paso 1.
